Minneapolis, MN – The YMCA in West St. Paul, a leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, will celebrate the opening of its interim site while a new facility is being developed on Thursday, November 21.
The new temporary YMCA is located at 1426 East Mendota Road in Inver Grove Heights. This location is in the Southridge Center and is conveniently located 1.4 miles from the old Y location.
“We are excited about serving the community with health and wellbeing programs in the new interim YMCA while we develop a Y that will best support our community for the next 50 years,” said Glen Gunderson, president and CEO of the YMCA of the North. “Once the new location for the Y is finalized, we will share with our Y members and the community. The permanent YMCA location will be in the current service area and will be built to reflect the needs of the community.”
The YMCA in West St. Paul is committed to helping all learn, grow and thrive. The Y serves youth in the community by building leadership and social skills, and providing job readiness opportunities through Teen Thrive educational and enrichment programs such as Y’s Start, Achievers, Youth in Government, Career Pathways and volunteering. In addition, the Y helps seniors in the local community stay active physically, mentally and socially through ForeverWell fitness programs, social outings and educational sessions.
Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the new interim location and hear from YMCA and community leaders.
